In his day, Habakkuk was very troubled by the way God’s people had turned from the Lord. He didn’t understand how God could tolerate the people’s idolatrous behavior. So, he cried out to God. And, God answered him.

God’s answer, however, took Habakkuk by surprise. God was going to do something to turn the hearts of His people that initially struck Habakkuk as shocking. But in the prophet’s recounting of his exchange with God we learn how he came to embrace God’s surprising solution to the problem of evil . . . and how he himself could live well in the face of that surprise.

This two-evening intensive will meet online on Thursday evenings, January 23 and 30, from 6:30-8:30 pm (EST).

Although there is no cost for the class, we’d ask you to register so that we can plan accordingly. All those who register will be sent a link and further instructions the day before the class.

This six evening course will equip you to read and understand the Bible for yourself. Unlike some Bible study methods and books, this class starts with what you already know about reading and applies it to reading Scripture, rather than starting with what you don’t know. The class is filled with “lab time” where you will experience the joy of personal discovery in reading the Bible.

When I began reading the Bible years ago, it was out of duty and obligation. Several years ago, I joined a local Bible Study Fellowship group, and my love for God’s Word grew immensely, but I still wasn’t ‘excited’ about it. After taking this course, I can honestly say that I am EXCITED to read and understand God’s Word.”

This course will meet in person for six Sunday evenings, starting
January 26 (Jan 26, Feb 2, 9, 16, 23, Mar 2), meeting from 6 pm until 8 pm each evening. The class is being hosted by Victor Baptist Church, Greer, CA, but is open to others to attend.

Although there is no charge for the class, we would like you to register if you would like to attend so that we can plan accordingly. Each attendee will be provided with a course notebook.

It’s hard not miss it when you read the Gospels. There are evil spirits in the world, and Jesus has come “to destroy [their] works” (1 John 3:8). He gave authority to His disciples to confront and defeat such spiritual forces (Luke 9:1).

When we turn to the Epistles, we come across the topic of spiritual warfare and confrontations with evil spirits. Believers cannot deny the reality of the spiritual warfare we are caught up in. So what are we to do about our involvment in the spiritual war?

In this two evening intensive we will start in the Gospels but end by focusing on to the call to “put on the full armor of God” (Ephesians 6) and what it means for us to fight the spiritual battle.

This class will meet, online, on two Tuesday evenings, February 4 and 11, beginning at 6:30 pm (EST) each evening. Although the class is without charge, we still ask you to register so that we can plan appropriately.

It is likely that you will, at times, feel it. A dryness in your soul; even a sense of spiritual depression. We don’t like to talk about it, but many have felt such things.

So how are we to live in the midst of such times? In Psalm 42 and 43, David not only opens a window into his own troubled soul, but points a way forward for all who are in the midst of such soul-wearying seasons of life.

This online class will live honestly and deeply in these two psalms, look for help and direction. The class will meet online on two consecutive Thursday evenings, February 13 and 20.
