But there is another name we should know: Peter and James and John; those names are familiar. Even Paul comes to mind when people speak of the New Testament apostles. But there is another name we should know: Barnabas. Perhaps you weren’t aware that Barnabas is also identified as an apostle. And, perhaps, there is a great deal more we could learn about what it means to be follower of Jesus from his example. This one evening class will turn our attention to Acts to learn about Barnabas’ life and ministry. We will discover that this overlooked apostle really could be a surprising model for us. The class will meet online on Thursday, September 25, at 6:30 pm (EST; US). more September 25, 2025 6:30 am - 8:30 am(GMT-04:00) october When the Gospel came to the Galatians, it was amazing and great good news. Acceptance before God and life with Him was made theirs by grace, through what God had When the Gospel came to the Galatians, it was amazing and great good news. Acceptance before God and life with Him was made theirs by grace, through what God had done in Christ Jesus. But then other teachers snuck in with a message about rules. That message? To grow in holiness and life with God, one needed rules to follow. And that was not good news! So Paul wrote a letter to the Galatians about growing in life with God–growth that comes not through rule keeping by by keeping in step with the Spirit of God. And that is good news we all need to hear. Over two evenings, we’ll read, listen to, and explore Paul’s letter to the Galatians to uncover the liberating message Paul proclaimed to those believers . . . and through that letter what he has to say to us. This will be an on-line class. This two-evening intensive will meet on-line (Thursdays, October 2 and 9, 2025), from 6:30-8:30 pm (EST, US). Although there is no cost for the class, we’d ask you to register so that we can plan accordingly. All those who register will be sent a link and further instructions the day before the class. more October 2, 2025 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm(GMT-04:00) The New Testament is filled with references to praying for others–whether seen in Jesus' own ministry as He prays for His followers or in the epistles where we find examples The New Testament is filled with references to praying for others–whether seen in Jesus’ own ministry as He prays for His followers or in the epistles where we find examples of saints praying for other saints. It’s impossible to not see this. But seeing this pattern of praying for others is not always enough to provoke us to actually do it! Whether you want to grow in your personal life of prayer or you would like to be involved in a ministry of prayer in your local congregation, our time together will provide a solid foundation for understaning the how and why of praying for other people. The class will meet online on three consecutive Tuesday evenings (October 7, 14, 21), starting at 6:30 pm each evening (EST; US). more October 7, 2025 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm(GMT-04:00) This six evening course will equip you to read and understand the Bible for yourself. Unlike some Bible study methods and books, this class starts with what you already know This six evening course will equip you to read and understand the Bible for yourself. Unlike some Bible study methods and books, this class starts with what you already know about reading and applies it to reading Scripture, rather than starting with what you don’t know. The class is filled with “lab time” where you will experience the joy of personal discovery in reading the Bible. After a recent “Reading Scripture” course, Lindsay wrote: “We finished the 6-week course last night, and I am blown away by how much I learned, how insightful the course was, and how FUN it can be to read and enjoy God’s Word. When I began reading the Bible years ago, it was out of duty and obligation. Several years ago, I joined a local Bible Study Fellowship group, and my love for God’s Word grew immensely, but I still wasn’t ‘excited’ about it. After taking this course, I can honestly say that I am EXCITED to read and understand God’s Word.” This course will meet in person for six Thursday evenings, starting October 16 (Oct 16, 23, 30, Nov 6, 13, 20), meeting from 6:30 until 8:30 pm (EST) each evening. The class is being hosted by 3 Gen Ministries in Greenville, SC, but is open to others to attend. Although there is no charge for the class, we would like you to register if you would like to attend so that we can plan accordingly. Each attendee will be provided with a course notebook. more October 16, 2025 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm(GMT-04:00)Event Details
