We don’t get much insight into how Joseph, serving in Egypt, except when he names his boys.
Most Bible-readers know something of the Joseph we meet in the book of Genesis. Hated by His brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, imprisoned and ignored. Behind all of the trouble were a couple of dreams . . . and ultimately his story ends well as his dreams come to fulfillment.
But how did Joseph live well in those times of hardship? We are told very little. But toward the end of his story, we do hear something from him. He names his sons. And those names open a great window into what is going on in his soul. In this one evening “intensive,” we’ll practice reading and making sense of an Old Testament narrative as we explore what Jospeh might teach us about living well in times of trouble.
The class will meet on Tuesday evening, June 2, from 6:30 until 8:00 pm.
