Job is held out, in Scripture, as an example of patience and as an exemplary man. But many people tend to think of Job only in terms of what he suffered. Maybe there is more to learn from his story than just that simple thought.
Because of the complexity of the account found in the book that bears his name, we will be taking four weeks to read through and think through Job’s journey. He has three counselors who advise him, but is what they say true? He raises questions about his suffering? Was that a spiritually healthy thing to do? Those questions–and more–will fill our time, ultimately gaining some profound insight into how we can live well no matter what we may be facing.
We will be meeting online, on four consecutive Tuesday evenings, July 9, 16, 23, and 30, at 6:30 pm (EST; US). Although there is no cost for the class, we ask you to register so that we can provide you with both a handout and a link for the class. (If you might only be able to make three out of the four sessions, we still invite you to join the class!)
